We are a financial cooperative.
You may have heard of cooperatives. Some of them sell sporting goods, some of them sell groceries or fuel. All of them are about people achieving more together than they can on their own. As a financial cooperative, we’re like that too.
When you join our credit union you are a member, not a customer, and that makes all the difference. Our members are our owners and have an equal say in how our credit union operates, no matter their balance.
Our members empower us to put people before profits and work in their true interests. By providing world-class banking services, the best financial advice in Canada and an approach that centres around our members, we simplify lives, helping members and creating a future where everyone can flourish.

We believe in the power of partnership, working together to achieve social impact and make a difference in our communities.
Our Signature Cause, The Full Cupboard program support 11 food banks in the Vancouver Island, Pender Island and Salt Spring Island communities. Since 2013, these programs have raised over $765,000 and collected over 18,142 pounds of food for our partners (as of 2024). It’s due to the unwavering support of our members, community partners, and team members, that we’re making an incredible difference through donations and volunteerism that directly benefits the community where it was given.
Cancer affects countless lives, creating ripples that touch families and communities alike. —the alarming fact is that one in two British Columbians are directly or indirectly affected. The need for support is immense, and that’s why we’ve partnered with BC Cancer Foundation in a four-year investment of $400,000. Additionally, our partnership involves initiatives that engage our team members, including the Workout to Conquer Cancer Challenge, and dedicated funds that go to advance research and innovative care across the province.
Through a shared social vision and united effort with the First West Foundation, we’re always working to be a better community partner. In 2024, $1,062,358 was granted from the Foundation’s 18 endowments and charitable giving campaigns. Granting funds is the cornerstone of the vital community work being done through this partnership that’s grounded in trust-based philanthropy.
We foster sustainable partnerships that address advance social issues in our communities in alignment with six Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our focus includes the four key areas of food insecurity, financial literacy, mental health and employment readiness.
Through our Lead Well program, we leverage our financial strength and social vision to create capacity in the social sector. In 2024, our team members gave over 2,000 hours of their time during work and outside of working hours to support those in need. Their dedication is helping to build stronger and more connected communities across BC. We're proud to support our team members' desire to give back through our Lead Well program, which provides paid time off for volunteering.
