COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP

Creating capacity and bettering lives in our communities.

We believe in supporting local non-profit and charitable organizations that serve the most vulnerable in our communities. Through Lead Well, our social vision, we encourage our employees to volunteer with local organizations in the social sector to help our communities thrive.

DOUBLE THE IMPACT | TOGETHER WE CAN END CANCER

From now until December 2, we’ll match your donation to BC Cancer Foundation, up to $200,000—doubling the impact of your generosity! We’re proud to partner with BC Cancer Foundation and its annual Giving Tuesday campaign.

A cancer diagnosis affects us all. One in two British Columbians are impacted by cancer and this alarming statistic tells us the need is immense and the time to act is now. Your support fuels some of the world’s most promising researchers and medical professionals at BC Cancer in their endeavour to better understand and treat cancer.

COMMUNITY CREW

We have paused the Community Crew program due to Covid-19 restrictions. Our youth ambassadors will be out in the community as soon as it is safe to do so.

The Island Savings Community Crew is a youth ambassador program designed to develop leadership skills and provide an opportunity for students to act as role models while giving back to our local communities.

Throughout the year, our team of high-school students attend local community events in our trade area, and offer free activities such as face painting, playing giant jenga, family games and interacting with our mascot Penny the Owl. In addition to this, during the summer, each Crew member has a unique volunteer placement with one of our non-profit partners.

For more information on the program, please email us at community@islandsavings.ca.
