Creating capacity and bettering lives in our communities.
The Island Savings Community Crew is a youth ambassador program designed to develop leadership skills and provide an opportunity for students to act as role models while giving back to our local communities.
Throughout the year, our team of high-school students attend local community events in our trade area, and offer free activities such as face painting, playing giant jenga, family games and interacting with our mascot Penny the Owl. In addition to this, during the summer, each Crew member has a unique volunteer placement with one of our non-profit partners.
This year the Island Savings Community Crew will be available to assist non-profit organizations from May 15 to Dec 1, 2020. If you are interested in having them at your upcoming event or fundraiser, please complete our In-Kind Support application.
Applications are reviewed by our Community Crew Team Lead for eligibility and availability. Our Team Lead will aim to contact you a minimum 3 weeks prior to your event start date to let you know if we will be able to assist.
If you are or know of an outgoing youth living in Duncan, BC and currently enrolled in high school (grades 10 through 12), contact us to learn more about how to join the crew. Email Chris Waddell, Marketing & Community Specialist at CWaddell@islandsavings.ca.
