  • In March 2016, 102,464 individuals were assisted by food banks in British Columbia
  • This number is a 32.5% increase over 2008
  • 32.2% of food bank users in B.C. are children

Best Kinds of Food to Donate

Non-perishable food items can be donated at any Island Savings branch. Although the needs of every community are different, here’s a “wish list” of the top items generally requested from our food bank partners:

Canned Products

  • Fruit, Vegetables
  • Soup, Stew
