ACCEPTABLE IDENTIFICATION


To open your new membership, we'll ask you for one piece of valid government-issued ID and one piece of secondary ID. Here is the list of acceptable ID:

ACCEPTED GOVERNMENT-ISSUED ID:

  • BC Driver’s Licence with photograph
  • BC Driver’s Licence with photograph and Services Card
    Note: BC Driver’s Licence and Services Card is considered one piece of identification. A secondary piece of ID will be required.
  • Canadian Passport
  • Passports from other countries
  • Permanent Residence Card
  • Secure Certificate of Indian Status Card
  • Provincial ID Card (e.g., BC Services Card with photograph, BC Identification Card with photograph and expiry date)



ACCEPTED SECONDARY ID:

  • Canadian Birth Certificate
  • Provincial Driver’s Licence without photograph
  • Provincial ID Card (e.g., BC Services Card without photograph)
  • Provincial Health Insurance Card (e.g., BC Services Card, BC Care Card)
  • Credit card (e.g., VISA, MasterCard, department store)
  • NEXUS Card
  • Certificate of Canadian Citizenship



ACCEPTED ID FOR YOUTH (15 YEARS OLD AND UNDER):

Youth applicants must bring their Passport or Provincial Identification Card (BC Identification Card with photograph and expiry date), plus one of the following secondary pieces of ID:

  • Provincial Identification Card (e.g., BC Services Card, BC Identification Card without photograph)
  • Provincial Health Insurance Card (e.g., BC Services Card, BC Care Card)
  • Canadian Birth Certificate
  • Student identification card (for applicants under 12 years old only)
